The general guidelines and amount of courses for music teaching are based on the Teaching Board’s laws on basic teaching of music.
Art School Tretjakov has a right to teach art and belongs to the Finnish Music Schools Association.
Through the lessons we aim to improve the ability to read notes and to broaden the student’s knowledge of western art music and popular music.
Another goal is to encourage the student to perform independent work at home in accordance with the lessons and to actively participate in versatile musical hobbies (e.g. attending concerts and the opera).
Along with developing basic techniques and note reading the teaching provides students with the skills to improvise, provide accompaniment, as well as playing by ear.
Students are provided with performing experiences through the various events during the term. These vary from providing background music at events to spring and Christmas concerts.
